After coming home from shooting a couple weeks ago my son-in-law asked if I had seen anything exciting - to which I replied, "not really". The immediate thought on my mind when asked the question was more like, had I seen anything new, different, strange, etc. But after uploading the images to the computer and looking through them it occurred to me that my response was not entirely correct. We had endured a long, cold winter and it seems to still want to hang on. We're currently about 15 - 20 degrees cooler compared to this same time last year. The dreary gray and everything is brown or snow white days are fading and color is slowly taking over. So, what I'm seeing and shooting now IS exciting in the way of new plant growth and animal activity not to mention cheerier attitudes among people - though I haven't photographed any people lately.

Change is coming - just look around.

Excellent opening shot Dave, looks like the weather is in a beautiful transitional phase. We also had a longer than usual winter this year, it started earlier and lasted longer.
ReplyDeleteThanks Mohammad, I appreciate that. I was trying to decide whether or not to crop these photos to show the plants close-up without the brown background of dead leaves and sticks but came down on the side of showing them as I do for the very reason you mention - we're in a transitional phase of seasons and I was hoping to get that point across. Thanks for commenting.
DeleteLove these photos. I soon will say that is my brother in law and I knew him when : ) Laurie
ReplyDeleteThanks for the comment, Laurie. Nice touch of humor.
DeleteFroggies! :) Where you at buckeye woods? Rud and I walked there the other weekend when it was nice and this looks like what we were seeing. I love the shot of the trees with the green on the ground. It is such vibrant color! And the trees not yet having leaves covering them makes it so easy to see! Nice shots of hope :)
ReplyDeleteI didn't know you were a frog lover like your mom. Actually, all but two of these shots were taken at Fowler woods. The frogs were shot at Letha House Park and the bunny was in our backyard. I'm glad you like the photos and took time to comment. Thank you.
DeleteI am. :) Mom told me about the bunnies! And now you have a robin's nest! Exciting pictures to come :)
