New Life

It's been a very tiring week around here as Mindy and I have been expecting the birth of our daughters first child.  It began when her and her husband went to the hospital on Monday because the contractions were steady and frequent.  Mindy and I showed up minutes after they did and 5 or 6 hours later we were all sent home because the contractions had lightened up and our daughter was deemed "not in active labor".

We were all back at the hospital about 2 am Tuesday morning and this time she was considered in active labor and admitted.  I won't go into all that took place except to say that 54.5 hours of labor  later she brought forth a beautiful baby girl.  It was an epic struggle, but worth it all.  Mom, dad, baby and grandparents are doing well.  All are now, finally, looking forward to some much needed sleep.

And much thanks to our sister-in-law, Colleen, who had come from Texas for a visit and ended up staying around to help with preparing dinners, cleaning house, washing our clothes, taking out the trash, etc.  All unexpected and much appreciated. You're the best.
