Ring-billed gull at Huron Harbor

Nikon D750, Nikkor 200-500mm f/5.6 + TC-14II @ 700mm, 1/3200, f/8, ISO 1400
These photos are from the same place and time as the previous post but with different results.  This time it was a Ring-billed gull that got fed.  The images are still much softer than I'd like but I hope they will pass as being okay here.

One thought that hit me today was that I had VR set to "ON" on the lens and wonder if that had a role in the soft images since I was shooting at 1/3200.  Next time I will set VR to "OFF" and compare results.

Or, I guess I will need to try it both ways the next time since it will be a different day and different light.

These are being presented in sequence from the time the bird got the fish until I lost it.  This last photo shows both wing tips cut off at about the same point so it remains symmetrical at least.  As I mentioned before, I'll be trying again and hope to come away with better results.
